What I did
Theme, Brainstorming and mapping out systems.
I did allot of research on the Level-up system and how other games do player level-up.
Mapping out the Level-up system in the game. Made in Miro to make it easy for discussions with the rest of the team.
Especially important in a "casual mobile" game to stain side the Balanced zone.
We hade allot of discussions around how the level-up curve should look like. I did the research and looked at other games like "AdVenture Capitalist", "Idle miner", "RuneScape", "Guild Wars", "OSRS" and other games.
I map out how the Economy system could work in the game.
Prototyping systems in Figma and Engine(Unity).
I made an economy system in Unity and showed the team in engine and in Miro how it works.
UI/UX implementation in Figma and Engine(Unity).
Me and my team mate Jack put together ideas in a tool called "Figma" on how the UI should work.
We then toke those ideas and presented them for the rest of the team and the "Leads". This to get feedback and iterate on the solution.
I got a brief of how the UI should look and function from the Art team and Lead designer.
I made a Mockup of the UI in Engine from the brief and the art assets from the Art department. Presented them for the rest of the team and "Leads" for approval.
When the UI was "Approved" by the project I made the backend code for the UI to work. Things like
- Hide/Show icons.
- Hide/Show UI menus.
- Settings, Turn on off sound, Language
- Localization of text.
- Set up variables to show in the UI.
- All in game popups and so on...
